EP and Viral Infections
28 07 2008So we finished recording all the instruments for the EP on Friday, but unfortunately I came down with a viral infection in my throat so we couldn’t cut any of the vocals. On a more positive note, Ann Marie Calhoun (who played violin at the Grammys myspace.com/annmariecalhoun) came in to play strings for us on Friday and all I can say is they sound AMAZING. So now we’re on a 2 week break while the producers go on vacation and so I can rest my voice.
I’m starting to also realize how much is outside of our control. I came down with this infection the first day we started recording and I’m STILL sick after 2 weeks. Also within that time, I had to move out of my old house, finish a client’s website, racked up $200 worth of medical bills after seeing 2 doctors, and my friend died of brain cancer. I guess what I’m learning is that we can plan all we want in life, but life inevitably goes awry and we have to adapt with it. Change is how we grow and many times our present adversities end up being blessings in the end. The key is to always hope and search for the good things that are buried deep in the mess.
So whether this EP comes out in August or in 2009, I’m finding that going with the flow is better than trying to fight it. And besides, things of great value always come at a great cost. If making this EP was easy, it wouldn’t be worth it. In the meantime I’m going to enjoy my 2 week break and drink a lot of tea.
Blessings,
Tim
In other news, we have t shirts! They will be available online soon.
